What you’ll achieve
By the end of this guide you can read your whole year on one screen: which countries it went to, how the days fell across the months, and which single month is responsible for a number that surprised you.
The dashboard answers how many days. This screen answers when, which is the question you need before you can fix anything.
Step 1: Open the year overview
Open the Dashboard tab and tap the Year Distribution card at the top.
The screen that opens is titled with the year itself, 2026 Overview. It follows the year chip in the dashboard’s top left, so switching years switches this screen too.
Step 2: Read the legend
The top of the screen repeats the year’s totals, one country per entry, with the colour each one uses in the grids below.
The legend names your top three countries by days. Others pools everything after them, and Remaining is the days of the year with nothing logged at all, which is the rest of the year plus any gap you have left behind. Both are greyed out because neither is a single country.
Under the legend sit twelve month grids, one dot per day. A dot is coloured if that day is logged, dark if it is not, and today carries a white ring: in this profile, 13 May.
Step 3: Open a month
Tap any month grid.
A card appears over the grid with that month’s breakdown, countries first and days next to them. April here is 20 days in Taiwan, 6 in Thailand and 4 in Japan, which adds up to the 30 days of the month.
Tap the card to dismiss it, or tap another month to move the card there.
This is the fastest way to find where a total came from. A country card on the dashboard tells you the year’s number; this tells you which weeks made it.
Step 4: Isolate one country
Tap a country in the legend.
Every day that is not that country fades, so the country’s stays stand out across the whole year at once. Taiwan turns out to be a single block in April.
Tap the same country again to bring the rest back. Others and Remaining cannot be isolated, which is why they are greyed.
Step 5: Read the yearly insights
Scroll to the bottom.
Yearly Insights is two cards, or three if you track Schengen.
The first is your dominant country and the share of the year it took: 16% for Thailand, which is 59 days out of 365. The second is how many countries the year touched, 4 here. With the Schengen Area switch on, a third card counts your Schengen days for the year.
Generate AI Summary writes a few lines about the year in plain language. It needs PRO and an AI provider configured, and it is the only part of this screen that does.
Check your result
Add the legend numbers for the countries, plus Others. The total is the days logged this year, the same number the This year tile shows on the dashboard.
Then open one month card and check its days add up to the length of that month, counting unlogged days as the gap. If a month falls short, those are days waiting to be filled.
If something looks different
The screen is titled with a different year. It follows the dashboard’s year chip. Tap the chip, pick the year you meant, then open the card again.
The title reads a range like 2026-27. Your tax residence has a fiscal year that does not start on 1 January, so the overview covers that window instead of the calendar year. Set a non-calendar fiscal year explains the setting behind it.
A month is mostly dark. Those are unlogged days, not days at home. Find and fill missing days closes them.
Two countries look like the same colour. The palette is assigned by rank, so a year with many countries reuses close shades. Tap the legend entry to isolate one instead of trusting the colour.
A month card lists a country the legend does not. The legend names only your top three; the rest are pooled into Others. The month card always names the real country.
Generate AI Summary opens the subscription screen. The summary is PRO. Everything else on this screen is free.
